Introduction to Derma Rolling
Derma Rolling also referred to as Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT) it is aimed at stimulating the body’s own collagen production to reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, stretch marks, skin laxity, pigmentation, cellulite, sun damage, acne scars, burn scars and chicken pox scars.
There is a wide range of different devices on the market place which include manual Derma Rollers or Automated Pen-like devices.
The treatment introduces a series of fine, sharp micro pins into the skin. The pins are attached to a sterile roller which is moved over the surface of the skin to create many microscopic channels or to a cartridge of needles arranged in a circle at the end of an automated device . These tiny pins penetrate the skin and encourage the body to produce new collagen and elastin which generate new skin cells to repair itself; the skin becomes thicker, plumper and more youthful.
